Hey everyone, good news the council has decided to do up the hall a bit and redo the bathrooms and some of the floors.

Bad news we can’t use the hall until they are done – resulting in the lan next weekend being put off until the upgrade is done (at council speed)

Its that time again..

Registrations are up for Lanholm’s 9th Birthday on the weekend of the 20th of May. Watch this space and our facebook for updates

Thanks again to bushwireless for providing the internet connection, we will be putting in some more filtering for next time as it looks like some of you guys are members of a bot net and should really get some antivirus going :p

So any thoughts on when to have the next one?

The pressies from the nice boys at Futuremark have arrived which includes videocards and some other goodies.

If you pay before the 25th of Oct and go in the draw for winning some pressies including a few copies of Shattered Horizon from Futuremark so you can take part in the games of geek :d

Our main tournament will be a series of games in the quest of finding the best over all gamer. This way we involve more people and get some nice big games going. Blatantly stolen from the GeekNZ boys

The games to have installed are:

• Quake 3 Corkscrew (instagib)
• Warcraft 3: Frozen Throne (12 way FFA first in first served)
• Plain Sight (great indie game that was 2$ on steam a few weeks ago – it’s 10$ but still a steal at that price)
• Shattered Horizon TDM (Great space based FPS made by our sponsors at Futuremark who are giving us a videocard to give away for this competition – currently 20$ on steam)
• Soldat CTF (pure awesome)

We will be keeping an eye on the top 6 from each game and making a note of all who participate, you don’t have to play every game but it will certainly help your chances

The kind folks at bushwireless are going to provide internet for us at the next Lanholm for all your steam and starcraft 2 needs
